Craig W. Gage, MD FAAFP, has more than thirty years’ experience in managed care and medical practice ranging from provider organizations to payer organizations to managed services organizations. He has served as medical director for a large staff model HMO serving primarily Medicare members as well as medical director for a large group practice that managed the health care of Medicare members. He held positions in the commercial health insurance industry, most notably as national medical director for quality for a large national insurer. He led care management activities for a physician hospital group with responsibility for inpatient as well as outpatient services and has served in a consulting capacity for several managed services organizations. He also served as chief medical officer for Medicaid and nursing home diversion programs in Florida for a large national health insurer. Dr. Gage is an experienced executive with expertise in population health management, quality management and utilization management processes for managed care populations and is a former NCQA surveyor. He also has experience with provider profiling and claims configuration processes. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
